BIOGRAFÍA

Iker Elorrieta es un cineasta nacido en Bilbao. Su ópera prima, “El Radioaficionado” (2021), se estrenó en el prestigioso Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, en Estonia, y en el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián. Ha participado en numerosos festivales internacionales como el de Moscow o el Hof de Munich y obtenido reconocimientos como el Premio Cinematográfico de la Universidad de La Sorbona 2022, en París, y la Bronce Camura en el Bergamo Film Meeting, en Italia.

Inició su carrera profesional trabajando como operador de cámara, y posteriormente en el departamento de postproducción de Filmax Entertainment, Galicia. Estudió dirección de cine en la Universidad Ramon Llull de Barcelona, ha trabajado como manager para marcas como Nike y dirigido numerosos proyectos publicitarios. Con su documental “I Forgot Myself Somewhere”, sobre la educación de la mujer en Pakistán, recibió múltiples premios internacionales en festivales de cine y derechos humanos.

Es miembro de Gidoi y Dama, y actualmente está desarrollando su segundo largometraje de ficción, mientras compagina este trabajo con la docencia, la escritura y la colaboración en diferentes proyectos de cine y publicidad.

BIOGRAPHY

Iker Elorrieta is a filmmaker from Bilbao. His debut feature film, “The Radio Amateur”, premiered at the prestigious Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and the San Sebastián Film Festival. The film has been selected by numerous international film festivals, including those in Moscow and Hof (Munich), and has received recognitions such as the Prix Cinématographique from the University of la Sorbonne 2022 in Paris, and the Bronze Camura at the Bergamo Film Meeting in Italy.

He began his career as a camera operator and later joined the post-production department at Filmax Entertainment Galicia. He studied film directing at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona. He has worked as a brand manager for companies like Nike and has directed numerous advertising projects.

With his documentary I Forgot Myself Somewhere, about women's education in Pakistan, he received multiple international awards at film and human rights festivals.

He is a member of Gidoi and Dama. He is currently developing his second fiction feature while combining his work with teaching, writing, and collaborating as a camera operator on various film and advertising projects.
