BIOGRAFÍA

Iker Elorrieta es un cineasta nacido en Bilbao. Su ópera prima, El Radioaficionado (The Radio Amateur) 2021, se estrenó en el prestigioso Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, en Estonia, y en el Festival de San Sebastián. La película ha participado en numerosos festivales internacionales, como el de Moscú o el Hof, en Baviera, y recibió reconocimientos como el Premio Cinematográfico de la Universidad de La Sorbona (2022), en París, y la Bronce Camura en el Bergamo Film Meeting, en Italia.

Iker comenzó su carrera profesional trabajando como operador de cámara y como editor en el departamento de postproducción de Filmax Entertainment, Galicia. Más tarde estudió dirección de cine en la Universidad Ramon Llull de Barcelona. También trabajó como manager para marcas como Nike o Globe shoes, y ha dirigido a lo largo de su carrera numerosos proyectos audiovisuales. Con su documental I Forgot Myself Somewhere, centrado en la educación de la mujer en Pakistán, obtuvo múltiples premios internacionales en festivales de cine y derechos humanos.

Es miembro de Gidoi y DAMA, y actualmente desarrolla su segundo largometraje de ficción, que compagina con su labor como docente y guionista. También colabora como operador de cámara y realizador en diferentes proyectos de cine y publicidad.

Iker Elorrieta is a filmmaker born in Bilbao. His debut feature film, The Radio Amateur (2021), premiered at the prestigious Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and at the San Sebastián Film Festival. The film has been featured in numerous international festivals, including those in Moscow and Hof, Bavaria, and received several accolades such as the Sorbonne University Film Award (2022) in Paris and the Bronze Camura at the Bergamo Film Meeting in Italy.

Iker began his professional career working as a camera operator and editor in the post-production department of Filmax Entertainment in Galicia. He later studied film directing at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona. He also worked as a manager for brands such as Nike and Globe Shoes, and throughout his career, he has directed numerous audiovisual projects. With his documentary I Forgot Myself Somewhere, focused on women's education in Pakistan, he received multiple international awards at film and human rights festivals.

He is a member of Gidoi and DAMA, and is currently developing his second fiction feature film, which he combines with his work as a teacher and screenwriter. He also collaborates as a camera operator and director on various film and advertising projects.
